I bought a beautiful Regina Scarlatta with very well-defined dragon scale ring blast, smoked it twice and put it down as the inner rim discolored from smoke. Unlike smooth pipes, the residue of the smoke won't rub off. I read that Danish Oil might seal what must be porous, unsealed wood. Questions: ...

Questions

As only a pipe smoker, I am curious about all the things that need doing well to be a pipe maker, and thus I joined.

But I was also hoping to ask a few questions now and then. Would the questions be acceptable, and if so, is this the correct forum in which to ask them?

Real name: Mike Smith. 16 years smoking the pipe. 62 y/o. Don't like bents and strongly favor classical shapes. Full-bodied tobaccos, including Dark Flake/Plug, Chenet's Cake, but all other tobacco classes as well, not necessarily high nicotine. Not a pipe maker; here to learn and ask a few question...
