My attendance is really up in the air right now. My shop time has been almost nil for the last few months.

As long as your ratios are ok, that's unlikely to happen, but if there is even a little bit too much in your mix, bam. That, and what Ernie said. People ...

PME sells a stem that long? No way.AldenW wrote:Thanks for all the kind words! And pro tip 'squatch; don't smoke in a rabbit hole.
The stem is one long piece of vulcanite; it started as one of the pre-molded stems from PME. They're quite long. I spent a good deal of time getting that wavy bend right!

I love that stem. I'm assuming it's spliced, not one huge piece of ebonite?

Re: Shellacing Problems
My shellac, unfortunately, is not the flake kind; it's the hardware-store pre-mixed stuff. It's pretty new. I tried diluting it this time, with denatured alcohol, but when I went to wipe the shellac off it pulled up a lot of stain with it. It is much smoother than before though. I've spent waaaay t...

Re: Shellacing Problems
How much dilution have you done to it, Alden? My shellac is way more denatured alcohol than shellac.

I only use shark skin that I harvest from baby great white sharks. I find it exceeds everything else, and I can charge triple because I use exotic sandpaper.

I think you were distracted by her tongue in your ear. No, no. 'Twas Bruce Weaver who got an ear-full. Rad You say that as if there was no possibility of the love being spread around a little. Are you suggesting that Bruce has The Clap? I wasn't aware that could be spread through the ears.

Re: bamboo
Ernie, I've got a slightly used flux capacitor you can buy from me. Cheap. I'll bring it to Vegas with me.
As for bamboo and horn, I'd like 5 horn units and then black bamboo enough to bring my order up to $150. I can pay as soon as Ernie buys my junk...err...I mean flux capacitor.
