Blasted Devil Anse

You guys know the drill. Re: Clipper

Well done! One other thing for me (if that's worth anything) that is distracting is the stamp (or maybe it's engraved?). It's too big. Of course it's worth something! It's engraved. And you're probably right, it might be a tad too big. Need to get a stamp... Something that helped me improve my slot...

Re: Eskimo

It's not easy! Go and have a good look at Eltang's, I think you'll find much more than I can un-eloquently say. Again with the Eltang remark?! You said the same thing with the last Eskimo I posted here! Still holds true though, so I guess it's ok...  The thing is I shouldn't be trying t...

Re: Billiard

It's funny. At more times than one during the making of this I remember thinking "Shit! I took too much off." And in the end there's still more that could have been taken off. Yes, billiards are tricky! :D

Re: Pick axe

Hard one to critique. The bottom line of the shank near the bowl looks to pinch in a bit. Other than that the execution looks solid. Yes, I find it hard to get a good line from the bowl to the back of the saddle. It often wants to taper the wrong way so to speak. my opinion. finish looks good and I...

Re: Rhodesian

I'd bend the stem just a tiny bit more if it was mine. I hear you! The bottom line of the stem needs more material taken off. The ring around the bowl is too thick. I agree with Ryan and Wayne. I would say the stem could be thinned out from tenon to button. It needs a steeper taper. Yes, the stem d...

Re: Clipper

Good looking pipe. Your buttons in general in all the pipes you've posted aren't bad but could be a touch more crisply done. They lack the detail you'd see in many high grades if that's your goal. Thanks! Yes, it's one of the things I'm struggeling with, button and slot. Can't seem to find a way to...

So I finally found a piece of briar I thought good enough to keep smooth. Might be a shape hard to critique, but I have faith in you guys, you can do it! And I'll appreciate it! Clipper

Didn't know what to call this, but since it was inspired by a Kriswill pipe I own, I descided to go with the Lundell Clipper. Tell me what you think! Eskimo

Hello! I haven't posted in a while, but now I feel a need for some of your helpful, honest critique and comments before I let social media likes and cheerfulness get to my head too much. Sorry in advance for flooding the gallery section a bit... First out a sandblasted/rusticared Eskimo or Ukulele i...

Re: Danish Egg...ish?

So what you're saying is I got the Danish part right anyways. I can live with that! :D

One of my favorite pipes is actually an old Pipe-Dan marked Loran that I bought from "Tradera", the Swedish version of eBay. It doesn't look much like this one though.

Hmm, I see what you're getting at. I think taking more meat of the shank bowl junction would've had the same effect. Sort of...
There's actually a gap between shank and stem in these pictures. I took care of that before I sent it off to the buyer. Should've taken new pics...

Danish Egg...ish?

My latest creation. I'm calling it a Danish Egg. I don't know if thats correct or not, but it's what I'm going with. The pipe sold quickly, so I guess I must have done something right... This is fun! I'll take part.
A years worth of pipemaking has taken me this far. My first and 37th pipe. At least they've gotten lighter over the year...

Re: Attempted Dunhill Prince sandblasted sibling.

George is right of course, even about the chamber, which impresses me most! That, and the fact he spotted me as an especially manly man!  And no, I didn't get the red undertone right. The bowl being top heavy and a bit uneven left to right I'm going to blame my lack of sandblasting skill...

Re: Attempted Dunhill Prince sandblasted sibling.

Was the idea to make a true duplicate (except for the blast. of course), or an "inspired by" sort of pipe? Well, I wanted to get as close to the original as possible, but made no assumption I would be able to get it 100%, especially considering I was going for the blasting from the start....
