Take a look at spot welding bits. They will leave a flat ledge. A bit pricey but readily available.

There is nothing wrong with your pics that cannot be "software" corrected. I use PhotoShop Elements. I also use a nice piece of suede leather (Tandy) as shown in this pic. Pretty neutral and not too distracting. Oh yeah, one other thing: nice job on the pipe. :D http://pages.Suddenlink.ne...

I lived in Spain for a few years. While there I built a couple of motorcycles. In order to get what you wanted you actually had to convince someone that's what you wanted. Loved the process and made some great friends as a result.

Beautiful pipe! Perhaps a lighter back drop. It would let the pipe stand out more but that's IMO. I used to photograph watches and used backdrops that allowed the watch to stand out. Used solid colors,no patterns and colors subdued and lighter than subject matter. Again all in my opinion. I'm old an...

I am OLD and my hands are so shaky I can't even pick my nose safely. I would ruin every pipe I tried doing this to. It does look awesome.
