Re: bulldog

As far as first pipes go, that is an absolute beauty! The bowl is tipped, and there looks to be a tad bit of a dip on the shank from bowl to stem on the top view, but the overall execution looks great. A bulldog is a tall order for any new pipe maker. To take one on right off the bat is commendable....

Re: Litl Renba and a second Vampire Squid inspired pipe

Both pipes would be prized possessions on my pipe rack.

Keep 'em coming.

Re: New Pipe 012 - "Aristocrat"

I really like this pipe. I make my own pipes for my own use. I can appreciate what you've put into it and it is one to be proud of!

Here's the lathe

And it is the drive spindle.

I'm looking to put a jacobs chuck on it for sanding and buffing applications.

Thanks Kurt, if there is another way, I'm all ears.

Fitting a jacobs chuck on a lathe

Hi guys, I have a bench top lathe with a 5/8" coarse thread and I want to put a jacobs chuck on it. All I can find at Lowes, Home Depot, etc... are ones that receive what looks to be 1/2" fine thread. I've looked at all the local haunts and cannot find anything. Any suggestions on a reduce...

Todd,

Any chance of getting a picture of your piano wire thingamabob?

Trying to visualize it, but perhaps I'm up too early and the coffee hasn't cleared the cobwebs yet

I really like the placement of the grain pattern.

Very nice pipe. IMHO, I like the placement of the logo.

My 3rd pipe was made of Osage Orange with a purpleheart extension. I have heard that osage orange smokes hot, but that is not the case here. That may have to do with the amount of wood around the bottom of the chamber. I love the look of osage orange and it was a pleasure to work with. http://i220.p...

Thanks for your response Jim!

If I recall correctly, I may have seen your cabinet pictures somewhere on the 'net.

That is not a bad idea at all!

Would love to see the pictures when you get them uploaded!

Thanks again.

Pipe Cabinet Plans

Good morning all! As my pipe collection has now exceeded my 6-pipe rack, I would like to build my own pipe display cabinet (glass paneled doors, 3 rows high, etc...). I have gOOgled high and low and cannot come up with construction plans. Does anyone have a link or information on this? I'm also curi...

When I review the new pipes, I try to use the critical eye of the experts here and I usually focus on the bowl to shank, then shank to stem transition. Very well done and I love the green - kinda reminds me of Peterson Racing Green.

Nice job!

I simply love this look. Very well done. I love the photography as well. I'm going to have to take some classes. Wife has a Nikon D50 and I'd love to present photos like that.
