I love the finish on this pipe- Fantastic! In fact, I would love to know how you did it. I also love the fantastic stem-work.

Re: Polishing up a light coloured shank with a metal band

I put a peice of tape around the shank and polish the band with a separate buff just for metals. Then i do the reverse when polishing the shank. Sometimes afterwards I need to give them a very light going over together but not hard enough to make the buff black. Thanks Chris, that's what I do now a...

Polishing up a light coloured shank with a metal band

No, not polishing with a metal band, altough that must be fun too  I mean, how can I polish a light stained shank, that has a brass/alu/etc ringed mouthpiece attached to it? It always messes my pipes up because the polishing wheel gets black from the metals and transfers the "blackness...

Re: New member 2nd pipe

The rustication fits this pipe with the combination of the ruby red rim. Also, I like that step in the stem, kudos! One thing bothers me though, and that is the frontside transition of the rim, it seems that you could take a little more material off - this way it looks a little off-center. All in al...

Re: my newest

A lovely pipe! However, I'd take some material from the stem, IMHO it's too meaty for this shape... Must say, the colour of the wood and the stem contrasts beautifully! ;)

Re: Bulldog by CP

I really like this (bulldog is my favorite shape). The only problem I see is that the shank looks pinched where it meets the bowl, and it seems to have a reverse taper in general, which I don't generally care for. Does anyone else see this or think it presents a problem? Yes I do see. That's why I ...
